Tad Cahill
President & CEO

Tad Cahill

Tad Cahill is the President & CEO of Applied Control. He is driven by his passion for helping our team solve some of the industrial world’s most complex problems; ultimately leading to safer, more efficient, and prosperous communities that we can all call home. He is most proud of our local presence and contributions in each of the 11 states where we do business. 
 
Tad has over 20 years of experience in Industrial manufacturing. While at Applied Control, he has held a variety of roles including Technical Specialist, Sales, Business Unit Leader, and Chief Operating Officer prior to becoming our President & CEO in January 2021. 
 
He also serves as a mentor to young students at The University of Iowa where he earned his undergraduate degree and The University of Denver where he earned his Master of Business Administration. Away from Applied Control, he volunteers on various advisory boards for several local non-profits including Folds of Honor, The First Tee, and Douglas County Schools. 
 
Tad and his wife Jennifer reside in the Denver area along with their three boys and two dogs where they enjoy a very busy youth sports schedule and all the great outdoor activities that Colorado has to offer.
Mike Gabel
Executive Vice President

Mike Gabel

Mike has been with Applied Control Equipment for 17 years. He started as a Field Service Engineer focused on upstream and midstream Oil and Gas. From there, he has assumed roles of increasing responsibilities, including technical subject matter expertise, sales, and business unit leadership.  Mike holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and an MBA from the University of Denver. 
 
He enjoys sports, is a Colorado Native, and is an avid Denver Broncos and Colorado Avalanche fan. The only pieces not Colorado in Mike’s life are his wife & daughter from the great state of Texas. If you don’t see Mike in the office, you will probably find him on the golf course…searching for his lost golf ball.
 
Mike enjoys being a leader and mentor to the employees of Applied. Since the merger and growth of the business, Mike has appreciated the spirit of collaboration and teamwork throughout the organization. In addition, he finds his time working with and supporting employees and customers fulfilling.

Andrea Kewley
Chief Financial Officer

Andrea Kewley

Andrea Kewley joined Applied Control in 2020 as the Chief Financial Officer.  She took the business through the merger with her vast knowledge of mergers and acquisitions. She is a licensed CPA bringing over 15 years of experience with financial reporting, data analytics, and risk assessment.

Prior to this, Andrea was an Assurance Senior Manager in public accounting, working for Plante Moran, previously EKS&H, where she specialized in the oil and gas industry. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a master’s degree in Accounting from Drake University.

Andrea enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She played college soccer at Drake and enjoys playing golf.
Joe Yellig
VP of Operations, General Manager of the Pacific Region

Joe Yellig

Joe Yellig joined Applied Control in 2019 as the Director of Mechanical Operations, managing the legacy PCE Pacific operations and service organization. Over the past few years, Joe has been responsible for several key strategic projects, including integrating the legacy Emerson Life Cycle Service organization, building our new service facility in Salt Lake City, and critical operations and technology projects during the merger. Since then, Joe has been promoted to the VP of Operations and General Manager of the Pacific Region.
 
Prior to Applied Control, Joe spent ten years in the oil field service industry in Texas, working in several manufacturing and operations management roles and business system integration projects. He also has over six years of experience with digital and corporate marketing while working at Waste Management. Joe has a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Business Administration from Rice University.
 
Joe enjoys spending time with his wife and kids as they transition into college life! They love to spend their free time relaxing on the Oregon Coast.
Barbara Hicks
VP of People Operations

Barbara Hicks

Barbara Hicks joined Applied Control in June 2022 with responsibility for leading people activities. Barbara has spent most of her career in HR transformational roles where she helped organizations to improve efficiency and profitability. She has a passion for delivering people solutions to solve business challenges and empowering professional growth.
 
She brings extensive expertise with over 20 years of Human Resources experience. Prior to joining Applied Control, she served in multiple roles as the Chief Human Resources Officer leading people functions. Barbara holds a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development from Regis University.
 
Barbara enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.   She is an animal lover and enjoys her horses and playing with Goose, her Great Dane.
